We want to take the time to thank all of our staff, without them our game days wouldn’t go as smoothly as they do. We would like to say thank you Crissie Hall, Jennifer Garcia and Sarah Meinholdt.

Outstanding player of the year
-This award is given to “the player in either league whose on-field performance and contributions to his community inspire others to higher levels of achievement. The awards was close to determine the recipient because so many have worked hard on the field and have been involved off the field too. This individual was a rookie in 2011 but has shown great dedication to the team. This years award goes to Chris Morrow

Offensive player of the year
-is given annually to the offensive player of the Shorewood Monarchs believed to have had the most outstanding season and most impact on their side of the ball. Getting better every year, teams game plan on how to neutralize him, we’ve seen him take plays that we’re doomed and turn them into positive plays. He’s made back to back Allstar game appearance and has been referred to as Mr. Big play, Michael Favre etc, you all know him as T. Mo.
2011 Shorewood Monarchs Team offensive player of the year goes to Thomas Morris

Defensive player of the year
-is given annually to the defensive player of the Shorewood Monarchs believed to have had the most outstanding season and most impact on the defensive side of the ball. This player can be referred to as anchor, because he holds it. You can often see him being double teamed, when he’s not there you can notice the difference. 2011 Shorewood Monarchs Team defensive player goes to no other than Anthony “The transporter” Rankin

Team Ironman
-This award is given to the player who is thought to sacrifice as a player on the field, this is the player who never leaves the field. Many times you will find this player on both sides of the ball and even special teams. 2011 Shorewood Monarchs Team Ironman award goes to Eric Phillips

Team MVP
-most valuable player: the player judged to be the outstanding player in a sport during a particular season. This player was a difference maker and when on the field, willing to play where ever he’s needed. This season he earned all star recognition from coaches in the league on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. 2011 Shorewood Monarchs Team MVP goes to Eric “Easy E” Phillips

This time of year in Wisconsin the Winter weather is settling in, NFL football is in full swing. The Shorewood Monarchs are still on the clock tinkering and retooling. While some may go on a free for all signing spree, we choose to address points of emphasis.

Monarchs on Dec. 4th held our annual recruitment party at Dino’z Sports bar, the gathering allowed new players to meet returning veterans. This gave coaches the opportunity to see what they have on paper and begin to get the wheels spinning.

Closing out 2011

The IFL completed their second annual IFL Sports Expo weekend. Events kicked off Friday with a dinner for team owners, league officials and special guests. The featured event of the weekend was the Sports Expo; including booths from many vendors and league supporters, representatives from IFL team, coaches clinics for all IFL team coaching staffs, autographs and presentations by former NFL players. Represented at the expo were booths from league sponsors Burghardts Sporting Goods, Combined Insurance, Isagenix, Powerband, MDA and more. The event provided an opportunity for teams to network and open doors for new business relationships. Following the expo, the end of the season awards banquet was held closing out the 2011 IFL campaign and concluding the weekend. Dinner was served at the banquet and awards were distributed acknowledging the league all-stars and teams that were voted on by their peers.

Awards given were in the following categories:
Ironman of the year – Jeramy Melka (Greendale Panthers)
Defensive player of the year – Nate Heard (Wauwatosa Spartans)
Co-Offensive player of the year – Jaime Marton (Southern Lake Blue Devils)
And Jo Jo Moore (Muskego Hitmen)
Special Teams player of the year – Mark Mashburn (Madison Mustangs)
League MVP- Kyle Brodd (Madison Madison)
Coaching staff of the year – Muskego Hitmen
Most Improved team of the year – Greendale Panthers
Franchise of the year – Shorewood Monarchs

Congratulations to all players and teams who received awards and thank you to those that participated in this weekend’s events and helped to make the 2011 season a success!
