Just pass me the ball
Standing 4’9” tall and weighing 100 lbs. wet as a freshman at Milwaukee Tech High School, Prinston Cameron would have been an unlikely candidate for anyone looking to field a football team. A Milwaukee-native, Prinston, known to his teammates simply as “Prinse”, grew up playing a number of sports including, soccer, football, basketball, softball and bowling, however due to his size, he never had the opportunity to play sports in high school until he reached his senior year.
For two seasons, Prinse flew under the radar for with the Milwaukee Maniacs. However, in his third season in the Ironman Football League, Cameron finally began to make a mark in the league as a wide receiver with the Monarchs. He led his team with six touchdowns in the Monarchs tough fought inaugural season. Now as the team is half
way through the 2009 season, Prinse is well on his way to bettering his previous total last year.
At 22 years wise, Cameron serves as a captain for the Monarchs and leads his teammates by demonstrating dedication and a strong self-motivating attitude. If you ask him what motivates him he will tell you it is simply the fact that he wants to be the best at whatever he does.
Prinston loves that game of football and when asked about that passion, he says, “There’s no feeling that compares to the one you feel when you are on the field. It’s like a natural high that I am addicted to. When I am out there, I have no worries, it is just me and my family working together to accomplish the same mission; a win.” He will tell you in a heartbeat that he appreciates the opportunity afforded him by the IFL and the Monarchs to play REAL football and fulfill his hunger for play.
When he is not on the field, Prinse has many hobbies including every sport from football to fishing. He loves to work on cars and spending time with his son, Amadi.
Prinston knows he definitely has some growing to do, but he has matured on the field in his time with the league. He looks forward to continuing to step his game up and help to push himself and his teammates to live up to their potential on the field.
